The Debrief. For Closing Loops.
The brain needs a signal that processing is complete. Without one, the loop keeps running.
How
- Sit down immediately after — not hours later.
- Set a timer for five minutes.
- Write one sentence: what happened and what you would do differently.
- When the timer ends, stop. Close it.
When
- Immediately after any situation that is replaying in your head.
- Do not wait. The longer you leave it, the more the loop embeds.
Why
- The brain keeps unresolved situations active — open loops that compete for attention until closed. A written sentence and a hard stop close the loop.
PS. Five minutes. One sentence. Done.
